Sauerkraut

1 large onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. bacon fat or margarine
1 can (16oz.) sauerkraut
1 cup white wine or apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 large apples grated
1 potato grated
Fry onion in bacon fat until transparent. Add sauerkraut, white wine, brown sugar and apples. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add grated potato to mixture. Again bring to a boil.
