Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Rolls

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast
1/2 tsp salt
4- 4 and 1/3 cup flour
110 degrees 1/2 c water
1 cup scalded milk
1 package chocolate chips
1/2 cup melted margarine
Brown sugar
1/2 cube margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup sugar
nuts (optional)

Melt 1/2 cube margarine in scalded milk.  Add sugar and salt to the milk mixture; let cool. Add yeast to warm water 5-10 minutes. Add a pinch of sugar to activate faster. When milk cools add yeast and water mixture. Add beaten eggs and flour to make a good dough.  Let rise one hour. Divide dough in half, roll one half into rectangle shape.  Spread half melted margarine over dough.  Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and brown sugar.  Now, sprinkle chocolate chips over that.  you can add nuts or coconut at this time if you wish.  Roll up dough and cut into 1 to 1 – 1/2 inch pieces; lay on greased baking sheet flat, side by side.  Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes, or till brown.  Cool about 15 minutes before frosting with white vanilla frosting; canned or homemade.


3 cups powdered sugar
dash of salt
enough evaporated milk to make a nice consistency
1 teaspon vanilla
1/3 cube melted margarine

Beat all together until smooth and little more runny than usual.  Frost top of cinnamon rolls.
